Protein is actually not hard to get. These are some foods that naturally have protein:
Nuts(also peanut butter)
Milk
Eggs
If you feel that you’re not getting enough protein try diet bars, or meal bars. These all have lots of protein as well.

rule no 1: stop eating meat.
you’re now a vegetarian.
You can survive fine without meat or anything extra added to a vegetarian diet. (trust me i definitely managed for 10 years without ever getting ill because of it) though it’s probably better for you to slowly phase meat out of your diet so your body gets used to it, like stop eating red meat (like beef) for a month and just have chicken etc, before you go right into vegetables.
But to keep their health as high as possible a lot of vegetarians will still eat small amounts of fish though (like tuna, salmon etc), or if not there’s also supplement tablets you can get if you go to any good Supermarket, and if you ask your doctors advice they should be able to advise you which ones are best since they would depend on age etc, for instance people still growing would need different nutrients than someone in their mid 30’s.
Good luck
btw someone who doesn’t eat dairy is called a vegan not a vegetarian, and vegetarianism IS something you choose to become, if you just don’t like food in general it’s actually just called being fussy.
